How Much Does a Jacuzzi Bath Remodel Cost?
A Jacuzzi bath remodel costs what the bathroom around the tub costs. On Basic finishes, our bathroom remodels start at $25,000+ for a small bath with a tub and shower combo, $35,000+ for a medium bath and $65,000+ for a primary bath. We publish no jetted tub price, so the tub, its circuit and its access are priced in writing.

What is a Jacuzzi bath?
A Jacuzzi bath is a bathtub with built-in massage jets. Jacuzzi is a brand name that became the everyday word for water-jetted tubs, as the tub maker Aquatica explains in Jetted Tub vs Jacuzzi (2025).
Kohler names air tubs and whirlpool tubs as the two most popular jetted tubs, and puts the difference simply: "an air tub releases jets of air while a whirlpool shoots jets of water" (Air Tubs vs. Whirlpool Baths, read in 2026). Some tubs, such as Kohler's walk-in bath, have both.
Either way, the tub needs power, a motor that can be reached for service, and a plumber and an electrician on the job.
Is Jacuzzi Bath Remodel the same as a full bathroom remodel?
No. Jacuzzi Bath Remodel sells Jacuzzi tub and shower systems, installed by a network of local dealers. Jacuzzi says its certified installer can transform a bathroom "in as little as one day" (Jacuzzi Bath Remodel, read in 2026). It publishes no price and says "only through the consultation could an accurate price be quoted."
A full bathroom remodel rebuilds the room around the tub: plumbing, wiring, tile, vanity and floor, with permits. Our starting prices for that work are in the table below.
How much does a Jacuzzi bath remodel cost in the Seattle area?
The price follows the size of the bathroom and the finish level, the same as any bathroom we build. Our pricing guide lists a separate tub and shower as a layout for medium, large and primary baths. These are our published starting prices for the Greater Seattle Area, set by owner Bar Unger and updated October 2026.
Our pricing guide lists no jetted tub at any level. So the tub itself, its electrical circuit and its service access are added as their own lines and priced in writing after a site visit.

What does a jetted tub add to the cost of a bathroom remodel?
Mostly electrical work and access. Under National Electrical Code section 680.71, a hydromassage tub needs its own branch circuit and a readily accessible GFCI. The NEC also requires the tub's electrical equipment to be reachable without damaging the building's structure or finish, as Mark C. Ode explains in Electrical Contractor Magazine (December 2025).
Washington adds its own rules in WAC 296-46B-680 (effective April 2024). The tub must "bear a listing mark which reads 'hydromassage bathtub'" (subsection 6). The GFCI must not be "located in a building or tub cavity, crawlspace, or attic" (subsection 10). And the motor and disconnect "must be accessible at the same grade level as the tub or from a landing on the exterior of the building without the use of a ladder or other access device" (subsection 11).
In practice that means a new circuit from the panel, an access panel beside the tub, and framing and tile planned around it. A new circuit is wiring work, which needs a permit (see the FAQ below). Our pricing guide notes that upgraded systems, such as heated floors and steam showers, need dedicated circuits and planning, and a jetted tub is planned the same way.
Should you keep, replace or remove a jetted tub?
The price follows how much of the room changes, from about $15,000 to about $100,000 on our jobs.
Keep it. In a Renton primary bathroom in 2023, we rebuilt only the shower and left the jetted tub, vanity and floor beside it alone. It took about two weeks and cost about $15,000.
Replace it with a freestanding tub. In a Redmond master bathroom in 2024, a tiled corner jetted tub gave way to a white freestanding tub with a floor-mounted filler. The full room took about 13 weeks and cost about $100,000. In an Issaquah bathroom in 2021, a tiled tub deck in the window bay made way for a freestanding tub, as part of a room that cost about $55,000.
Remove it for a bigger shower. The tub's floor space goes to a walk-in shower. In a Kirkland condo in 2023, a corner soaking tub and a small shower stall became one walk-in shower for about $40,000.

What raises the cost of a Jacuzzi bath remodel?
The same things that raise any bathroom price, listed on our pricing guide:
- Moving plumbing. Relocating the toilet, shower drain or vanity means opening floors and walls and new venting.
- What is behind the walls. Water damage, soft subfloor or old wiring and piping show up at demolition in older homes, and we price repairs before we fix them.
- Layout or structural changes. Moving walls or enlarging the room adds framing, engineering and a building permit.
- Custom glass and stone. Frameless glass and slab stone are measured after tile, which adds cost and lead time.
- Upgraded systems. Heated floors, steam showers and smart controls need dedicated circuits and planning.

Frequently Asked Questions
Does a jetted tub bathroom need a permit in Seattle or Bellevue?
Usually yes, when plumbing, wiring or walls change, and a jetted tub needs its own circuit. A Seattle bathroom gets its building and electrical permits from the Seattle Department of Construction and Inspections and its plumbing permit from Public Health, Seattle and King County. A Bellevue bathroom goes through Bellevue Development Services. We file the permits and book each inspection.
How long does a Jacuzzi bath remodel take?
On site, after design and permits, a medium bath usually takes 6 to 10 weeks, a large bath 8 to 13 weeks and a primary bath 10 to 18 weeks, per our pricing guide.
Is a jetted tub harder to keep clean than a soaking tub?
Usually. Aquatica notes that whirlpool tubs need regular jet and pipe cleaning, while many air tubs run a purge cycle to dry the lines after each bath (Jetted Tub vs Jacuzzi, 2025). A soaking tub has no jets or lines to clean.
