A: After deciding on your dream project and completing the necessary legal paperwork, Volcano Builders will assign you a dedicated project manager. This experienced professional will guide you through the entire project process, ensuring that your vision is realized with precision and care. Your project manager will serve as your main point of contact, addressing any questions or concerns you may have and coordinating all aspects of the project to ensure its successful completion. With their expertise and attention to detail, you can trust that your project is in capable hands from start to finish.

A: During your free consultation, our estimator will assess your budget and determine if we can work within it. They will also provide guidance on whether your budgetary expectations are reasonable for the scope of the project.

A: Determining whether you need an architect or an engineer depends on the specifics of your project. Here are some general guidelines:

  • Architects: Architects specialize in designing buildings and structures, focusing on aesthetics, functionality, and overall design concepts. You may need an architect if your project involves significant design work, such as new construction, major renovations, or changes to the layout and appearance of a building.
  • Engineers: Engineers, on the other hand, specialize in the technical aspects of construction, including structural, mechanical, electrical, and plumbing systems. You may need an engineer if your project requires structural analysis, foundation design, HVAC system design, electrical system design, or other technical calculations.

In some cases, both an architect and an engineer may be necessary for a project, especially for larger or more complex undertakings. It’s best to consult with professionals in both fields to determine the specific needs of your project and ensure that all aspects are properly addressed.

A: After signing the contract, our dedicated project manager will promptly review our schedule, with a keen focus on aligning with the customer’s timeline and preferences, to commence work as soon as possible.

A: If needed, we can secure permits. However, it’s important to note that ultimately, all permits and related fees are the client’s responsibility. We are prepared to assist in preparing the necessary paperwork and guiding you through the process. This may include architectural plans and other project documentation. An expediter will submit these documents. While clients have the option to handle this process themselves, professional services are available for those who prefer assistance.

A: Your remodeling consultant will provide specific instructions tailored to the scope of your project. Generally, you should clear the area of removable personal items within the work area. While we sheet off work areas, consider protecting furniture from dust with plastic or sheets.

A: It depends on the size of the project and individual tolerance for inconvenience. Living on-site during renovation can be uncomfortable due to dust, debris, noise, and disruptions. We generally advise making alternate living arrangements during construction to minimize discomfort. Additionally, certain comforts like bathroom facilities may be unavailable for a period, which can be disruptive for most people.

A: While we take maximum care with your belongings, we highly recommend taking as many of your possessions as possible, particularly items of great personal value. The renovation process inevitably generates dust, including microscopic particles that can settle on and inside belongings despite efforts to protect them.

A: Depending on the nature of the project, utilities such as water, electricity, or gas may be temporarily disrupted. Our team will inform the homeowner in advance of any anticipated disruptions, and the homeowner will need to communicate with utility providers to minimize inconveniences. We prioritize communication and will ensure that homeowners are well-informed throughout the process.
