Walk-In Shower Bathroom Remodel in Gold Bar, WA

In 2023 we turned a knotty pine bathroom in Gold Bar into a bright, white room with a large walk-in shower. The old corner shower stall came out, the walls and ceiling were opened, and the room was finished in white shiplap with a black and white mosaic shower, a black hexagon tile floor, a floating wood vanity and a one-piece toilet.

The project

How this Gold Bar bathroom came together

The goal

The homeowner wanted the bathroom remodeled and, at the same time, needed a burst pipe taken care of quickly. Before the work, the room had knotty pine on every wall, a framed corner shower stall and a sink set into a wooden table.

The challenge

The burst pipe could not wait, so the repair and the remodel had to run as one job. The room itself has two windows and a sloped ceiling, which leave less straight wall for tile, a mirror and a vanity, and the old stall took up a corner without using the space well.

The solution

We removed the corner stall and opened the walls and the ceiling. In place of the stall we built a large walk-in shower across the end of the room, tiled floor to ceiling in a black and white mosaic, with a corner bench, a recessed niche and a black hexagon floor. The same black hexagon tile runs across the whole bathroom floor. White shiplap now covers the other walls. A floating wood vanity with a white top sits beside the window under a black framed mirror and two black sconces, and a one-piece toilet sits on the window wall.

The result

The finished photos were taken in May 2023. The dark pine room is now white and bright, the shower is far larger than the old stall, and the floor reads as one surface from the door to the shower bench.

Questions

Questions about this project

Can a pipe repair be done as part of a bathroom remodel?

Yes. In this Gold Bar bathroom the homeowner had a burst pipe to deal with as well as the remodel, so both were handled in one job by the same team, with one schedule and one price for the work.

Can a corner shower stall be replaced with a walk-in shower?

Often, yes, when the layout allows it. Here the framed corner stall came out and a tiled walk-in shower now spans the end of the room, with a bench and a niche built into the tile.

How much did this project cost?

About $35,000. Every project is priced in writing, line by line, for your home.

How do I get a price for a bathroom remodel like this one?

Book a consultation. We look at the room, talk through the shower, finishes and any repairs it needs and send a written, itemized price before work starts. For what moves the price of a bathroom, read Cost of a Bathroom Remodel in the Greater Seattle Area.
