Two Bathroom Remodel in Woodinville, WA

This Woodinville home had two bathrooms rebuilt in 2022. The hall bath got an alcove tub with a gray chevron mosaic back wall, marble-look side walls and a light wood shaker vanity with a matching linen tower. The primary bath, once a carpeted vanity hall with a separate shower stall, now runs past a long dark shaker vanity to a corner soaking tub set against the same chevron tile.

The project

How these two Woodinville bathrooms came together

The goal

Both bathrooms in this house were due for a full update. The primary bath still had carpet underfoot, an old dark vanity under a strip of globe lights, and a shower stall in a separate room with a frosted door. The aim was two rooms that felt related, with tile where carpet had been.

The challenge

The primary bath is long and narrow, a vanity on one side and closet doors on the other, so whatever went in had to keep a clear path from end to end. The hall bath is smaller, built around a standard alcove tub, and needed storage it did not have.

The solution

One tile ties the house together: a gray chevron mosaic. In the hall bath it covers the back wall of the tub, with white marble-look tile on the side walls, a recessed niche, a square rain head and a handheld shower on a slide bar. A light wood shaker vanity with a light top and a three-light fixture runs along one wall, finished by a tall linen tower, and large dark tile covers the floor. In the primary bath the carpet came out and tile went in, a long dark shaker vanity with a light stone-look top lines one side, and the old shower room gave way to a corner soaking tub set against the same chevron mosaic, with two niches above it.

The result

Our photos of this home run from April 19 to September 26, 2022, from the carpeted primary bath to both finished rooms. The hall bath now has closed storage and a tiled tub in place of a plain surround, and the primary bath reads as one open run from the vanity to the tub. The shared mosaic makes them look like a set.

Questions

Questions about this project

Can two bathrooms be remodeled in the same project?

Yes. In this Woodinville home the hall bath and the primary bath were rebuilt in the same year and share a chevron mosaic tile, so the two rooms match without being identical.

Can a separate shower room be turned into a tub area?

Here it was. The primary bath had a shower stall in its own small room; that end of the bathroom now holds a corner soaking tub against a tiled wall, open to the vanity.

How much did this project cost?

About $30,000. Every project is priced in writing, line by line, for your home.
