Master Bathroom Remodel in Auburn, WA

We took this Auburn master bathroom from a dated room with a green tile shower to a clean gray and white one in about three weeks of work in March 2023. A gray furniture-style vanity, a charcoal tile shower wall and a marble-look plank floor replaced the old cabinets, the framed shower door and the worn floor. It was one part of a longer list of work for the same household.

The project

How this Auburn master bathroom came together

The goal

The household had already worked with us on other parts of the house, and the master bathroom was next on the list. The old room had a framed green shower stall, a white vanity and a busy wall cabinet. The goal was a brighter, simpler room with easy-care surfaces.

The challenge

The room is narrow, with the shower, toilet and vanity along one run. Every piece had to fit the same footprint without crowding the door, and the shower wall had to be rebuilt while keeping the toilet and vanity where the plumbing already was.

The solution

The room was gutted to the subfloor and bare walls in early March. A marble-look porcelain plank floor went down the full length of the room, and the shower side was finished in a charcoal plank tile that runs floor to ceiling and frames one side of the room. A gray vanity with a white stone-look top, a mirror and a three-light fixture went on the end wall, with the toilet back in its place beside it. Fresh paint in a pale gray finished the walls. The marble-look floor and the charcoal tile wall were both in place before the vanity, mirror and toilet went back in.

The result

Demolition was under way by March 6, 2023 and the bathroom was complete on March 27, about three weeks later. The dark tile and light floor give the narrow room a clear line from the door to the vanity, and the old green shower and cabinet are gone.
