What to have ready for the application
The form asks for the details below. Having them at hand lets you finish in one sitting.
- Amount requested. The amount you want to finance. You can choose to include sales tax in it.
- Your address. Your present street address (not a P.O. box), how many years you have lived there, and a mailing address if it is different.
- Date of birth and Social Security number. Both are required for every applicant.
- Driver license. The license number and its expiration date.
- Contact details. Your email address and mobile phone. A home phone is optional.
- Monthly housing payment. Whether you own or rent, and your monthly mortgage or rent payment.
- Income and employment. Employment status, annual gross income, your current employer's name and city, years at that job and your occupation. Other income is optional.
- For a joint application. The same applicant, residence, income and employment details for the co-applicant, and both signatures at the end.
How we protect your application
A financing application asks for your most sensitive numbers, so the form treats them differently from everything else.
Locked the moment you submit
Your Social Security and driver license numbers are encrypted on our server as soon as you press Submit. They are never sent in an email.
Seen once, by our office
Our office can view those numbers one time, through a private link, to process your application.
Your copy hides them
The confirmation email includes your application as a PDF, with the Social Security and driver license numbers masked so only the last few characters show.
Home renovation financing questions
Does applying for financing affect my credit?
No. The application uses a soft credit check, which does not affect your credit score. It includes your authorization for Volcano Builders and its financing partners to obtain your credit report and verify the information you entered.
What can I finance?
The remodeling projects we build: kitchen and bathroom remodels, ADUs, home additions, whole home remodels and the other work on our residential remodeling services page. You enter the amount you want to request, and you can choose to include sales tax in it.
Can I apply jointly?
Yes. Choose Joint Application at the top of the form. The co-applicant enters their own identification, contact, residence, income and employment details, and both of you sign at the end. The confirmation email goes to the primary applicant.
How long until I hear back?
The confirmation email arrives as soon as you submit. Our office then reviews your application and contacts you about next steps.
Do I need a design before I apply?

Is my information secure?
Your Social Security and driver license numbers are encrypted as soon as you submit, can be viewed once by our office, and are masked in the PDF copy you receive by email. See our Privacy Policy.
